Open-Mindedness

David is one of the first to raise his hand to answer the question: “What is open-mindedness”? This image is from an activity a part of a greater series of lesson plans on Social Emotional Learning.

In the last month the kids at Neighborhood SCHOOL have learned about perseverance, self-confidence, empathy, curiosity, and forgiveness as well. The exercise on Open-Mindedness pushed the children to talk about things they disagreed on with a friend, such as video games.

In this bottom image, we see David and his friend, Ty, have decided to be a pair. No matter how differently someone feels about something, it is important to hear how others view and think about the world around them.
